"Just singing in the rain..."

Would you believe me if I told you that today is a new rainy day?

Good morning! Today is the 22nd of October of 2020. And to start the lesson with some good vibes our teacher has played some songs related to the rain that has engaged us to connect with the class. That songs were Umbrella, by Rihanna and Singing in the Rain by Gene Kelly. I truly loved this part, I mean, I started singing out loud in my room and dancing with the feet. I have to admit this is a wonderful idea to start the class.

I propose these songs too for the next rainy day:

Have you ever seen the rain, by Creedence Clearwater Revival: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1V8YRJnr4Q

It will rain, by Bruno Mars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-w3WfgpcGg

Once we have created a great environment to engage students to feel confident and ready to begin the class, we continue with our content. Before, I am going to leave here my final homework to end Unit 4:

HOMEWORK

1. What is the European Language Portfolio?

It is a concept that the European Council develops. There is not a unique model of Portfolio, in many areas, there are models that fit better with the environment (culture, needs, and interests).

The ELP is divided into three sections:

1. Language Passport: reflects the language identity.

2. Language Biography: this reflects the teaching and learning process, to encourage students to achieve their goals.

3. Dossier: where the learner exposes their learning process.

In summary, it is a way to reflect the development of the teaching and learning process across the European states.

2. Where did it come from?

It was developed at the same time as the Common European Framework, 30 years ago, in the 1990s. Several projects were growing at the same time, but the ELP was launched in 2001 after the European Council and three international governments came into an agreement.

3. Where is the purpose of it?

The European Council thought on two specific functions for the portfolio:

And this is all for this week! What an interesting and hard working weekend is waiting for us! See you next Monday :)
