Final reflection and bibliography Bye bye ELT I!

  • REFLECTION

This is not the end, but the beginning of a new stage. Even so, we have to say goodbye to the first part of this course, and, as you can see, a lot was going on. In these first months, I have been able to learn more than I could imagine, not only methodology and teaching "rules" but so many tips to enrich more my future classes, like using songs according to the weather of the day, use puppets as a partner of the learning process, decorating the class with realia or visual aids, etc. Also, I have discovered that we, the learners, have very valuable teaching potential, and I have noticed this in the group works and the brief presentations we have done in class. This was my favorite part, having space with my group partner to discuss and create. Besides, listening to my classmates was as enriching as listening to the teacher. All of us have an incredible and mutual feeling about education and language teaching, so I can summarize these months as a beautiful discovery of myself as a future teacher as well as my classmates and teacher points of view.

Last, if I have to give myself a mark I would say 7 or 8. I do not know how my exam went because I was terribly anxious and I could expect alike a 3 or 7 and none of these grades would surprise me, because I am not confident about how it was. But I know how my learning process was, and I am plenty proud of how I managed every class, all the work I have done in my free time to read, create the homework tasks, discuss and reflect, even though I had not so many free time because of my work schedule this past month. So, in conclusion, I think I have worked hard to give the best of myself and giving the importance it deserves to this subject.
